Suresh obtained his PhD from KU-Leuven in Belgium. He is working as a research scientist at the Picower institute for learning and memory, MIT. His research interests focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms of synapse diversity and plasticity using Drosophila as model system. He employs a multidisciplinary combination of electrophysiology, synaptic calcium imaging, super-resolution microscopy, and Patch-seq RNA profiling to tackle this fundamental question in neuroscience.
